• Allied Arts Selects 28 for Holmberg Arts Leadership Institute

    Allied Arts of Greater Chattanooga has selected 28 Chattanoogans to participate in the 2008 Bill Holmberg Arts Leadership Institute, a seven-part series designed to fully engage participants in the arts community.

    Members of the Class of 2008 are: Scott Allison, Sidonna Bright, Ralph J. Covino, Missy Crutchfield, Isaac Duncan III, Kathie Scobee Fulgham, Jane W. Grant, Jennifer Hoff, Joseph Wesley Jarrett, Richard A. Johnson, Holly Leber, Janna Schrimsher Martin, Jerry Dale McFadden, H. Lyn Miles, Ryan Yelliott Norris, Peggy Petrey, Nancy Pettibone, Jim Pfitzer, Donald Ross Raymond, Janet Reese, Jasmin Nora Imami Rippon, Janis Lee Rowland, Anthony Sims, Waide Poston Tanner, Linda B. Todd, Ronald Charles Ulen, Trish Ferrell Wileman and Ray A. Zimmerman.

    “The panel selected participants who are interested in the arts and who have a particular passion for helping arts and culture advance in our community,” said Marilyn J. Harrison, Vice President of Allied Arts. “The institute embodies the spirit of Mr. Holmberg’s passion for the arts, and we believe that we have a quality group of individuals with the potential to truly embrace his vision.”

    Launched in 2005 in memory of long-time Allied Arts board member and arts advocate A. William Holmberg, Jr., the institute provides behind-the-scenes site visits to cultural and educational institutions, case studies of arts agencies, panel discussions with community leaders, and a unique forum for pursuing shared goals among arts leaders, business leaders, educators, and philanthropic foundations.

    Allied Arts, founded in 1969, is a non-profit united arts fund that has raised nearly $50 million of support to nurture arts and cultural organizations in the Chattanooga area. Allied Arts mission is to galvanize broad participation and widespread support for the arts.
