    ArtsBuild to Launch Online Survey March 25

    ArtsBuild is launching an initiative which could result in community-revitalizing, low-income housing for local artists. Partnering with Minneapolis-based Artspace, ArtsBuild will conduct an online survey of artists, arts organizations, and creative businesses in the Chattanooga area to determine the nature of the local market for a mixed-use project. The Artspace survey will be launched during a free public event from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on March 25 at the Church on Main, 1601 Rossville Avenue. The event is open to all; artists, directors of arts organizations, and creative businesses are especially encouraged to attend.

    ArtsBuild Awards Community Cultural Connections Grants

    ArtsBuild (formerly Allied Arts) awarded its second round of Community Cultural Connections (CCC) grants on February 18, 2014. Twenty-two Hamilton County-based organizations received small grants, up to $3,000, to fund arts and cultural experiences in social service agencies, neighborhoods, faith-based organizations, and municipalities throughout the greater Chattanooga area.

    ArtsBuild to Honor Ruth Holmberg with Arts Leadership Award

    ArtsBuild (formerly Allied Arts) will present its first Annual Arts Leadership Award to Ruth Holmberg during a reception ceremony on Tuesday, March 11 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at The Space at Warehouse Row. The award will recognize Mrs. Holmberg for her extraordinary support of the arts and cultural community in Chattanooga over the past 68 years.

    ArtsBuild Accepting Community Grant Proposals

    ArtsBuild is currently accepting requests for the 2013-14 the Community Cultural Connections (CCC) grant program that supports arts and cultural projects for underserved populations in Hamilton County. Now in its second year, Community Cultural Connections is a direct result of Imagine Chattanooga 20/20, the community-wide cultural plan that created strategies to improve the greater Chattanooga area through arts and culture.     ArtsBuild Appoints Seven New Board Members

    ArtsBuild recently appointed seven community leaders to serve on its Board of Directors. Appointees include: Wayne Cropp, President & CEO, The Enterprise Center; Bijan Dhanani, Advertising & Special Projects, Delegator; Liza Soydan, Director of Business Development, Clarus Consulting Group, Inc.; Gerald Webb, Attorney, Speek and Webb, PLLC; Peggy Townsend, Owner, Townsend Atelier; Steve Hunt, Managing Partner, Berry and Hunt; and Roland Carter, Professor Emeritus, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
